CSC 410 Parallel and Distributed Computing (3). An overview of principles of network and distributed computer systems. This course covers the concepts of the network control, asynchronous concurrent processes, multi-threaded execution, mutual exclusion, deadlock, distributed storage management, processor scheduling, and system and network security. Two hours lecture and two hours lab per week. This course must be taken with one of the following: CSC 411, 412, 413, or 414. Prerequisite: CSC 300 or consent of instructor.
